The $20 cost supports the historic Community Center in Jericho which provides a setting for a variety of activities such as parties, meetings, and classes and also hosts fun events that strengthen a sense of belonging to, caring about and enjoying where we live. This year’s calendar, with excerpts from Mary Jane Dickerson’s poems, is dedicated to her in gratitude for her tireless support of the Community Center and Jericho. She and her husband Skip were among the founders of the Community Center, and for decades Mary Jane served on the Board, while living next door. Her influence on poetry in Vermont was huge, including co-founding Sundog Poetry, teaching an annual free class in Jericho Center, and for decades teaching at the University of Vermont.
